Dental Emergencies
What are Dental Emergencies?
If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, you may be in pain or feeling severe discomfort that gets in the way of living a normal life. Over time, the problem can get worse, causing the need for more invasive treatment. In order to protect your smile and rid yourself of the intense pain, we recommend coming into the office for emergency treatment. Emergency treatment is available to patients of all ages, regardless of whether or not you’re an existing patient.
Why do you need treatment for Dental Emergencies?
While many medical problems often resolve themselves over time, teeth won’t heal without professional treatment. If a tooth has become severely decayed and is infected, the problem will only get worse over time. This is why we recommend coming in for treatment as soon as you notice there’s a problem. By handling the emergency early on, this can prevent the need for more extensive treatment later on.

What can you expect during treatment for Dental Emergencies?
We will begin the appointment by asking you about the problem. We will ask what’s bothering you and when it started. We follow this by taking x-rays and then performing a comprehensive dental exam. We provide you with treatment as soon as possible to eliminate the pain and discomfort that you may be feeling. If you have an infection, we’ll prescribe an antibiotic to take to clear the infection before treatment can begin. It is important to come in for emergency care as soon as possible so that treatment is effective and less invasive.
